My Heart Is Full
My work here is done (for now)...
When an artist releases their work into the wild, after years of blood, sweat and tears, it’s natural for there to be a feeling of loss or depression. We’ve been holding our art so close to our souls every step of the way that when it’s gone, there’s an empty sensation. I braced myself for that sensation…
Luckily for me, I have the opposite feeling. My heart is full, I feel relieved that I was finally and successfully able to bring Vacated Shapes to you. I enjoyed every step of the process from writing to recording to promoting and finally to performing.
Now it’s time to take a couple steps back over the summer break and hang out with my family. Enjoy life, vacation, time slowing down.
So with that I wanted to tell you about what’s happening over the next couple months now that my album release is in the rear view…
In the Near Future:
Next week, I’ll be releasing the season finale of the Hard Folk podcast featuring Don Pyle. He’s got a great new book out called Rough Description: love letters and ghost stories from a life in music but if you’re like me, you know him as the drummer for Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet.

The Future:
I can’t wait to get back work to writing and recording new music for everyone to hear! I’ll also be travelling to Hamilton to attend the Folk Canada Conference in October. It’s a great way to connect with fellow artists, gain invaluable insight into the many mysteries of the music industry.
Hope to see you somewhere along the way…
